How to report Phishing/Spam emails in Outlook

Reporting an email as phishing or spam in Outlook Web and the Outlook application is an important step in helping to protect yourself and others from malicious emails. Here's how you can report such emails in both platforms.

Reporting Phishing or Spam in Outlook Web:

  1. Open Outlook Web: Log in to your Outlook Web account.

  2. Open the Suspicious Email: Locate the email that you believe is phishing or spam and open it. Never open any files

  3. Report as Phishing: In the email view, you should see a toolbar at the top. Look for the "Report" button (it may also be labeled as "Junk" or "Phishing," depending on your version of Outlook). Click on it.

  4. Choose the Type: A dropdown menu will appear. Select "Phishing" or "Junk" (whichever is appropriate for the email).

  5. Confirm: Outlook may ask you to confirm your decision. Confirm that you want to report the email as phishing or spam.

  6. Delete or Move to Junk: After reporting, you can delete or move the email to your Junk folder.

  6. Delete or Move to Junk: After reporting, you can either delete the email or move it to your Junk/Spam folder.
